JOURNAL ENTRY #9 “THE ODYSSEY”

Continuing the discussion of fate and free will in class, there was a great point brought up of Adam and Eve having complete free will in their decision to sin as well as Jesus having free will to spread the word of God. This correlates to the book of “The Odyssey” really well because characters have questioned why their fate has been left to the Gods to decide. Much of the examples are when Odysseus, believes Zeus has been testing him – “What of those years of rough adventure, weathered under Zeus (Book 9)?” Much of the story Odysseus believes in his fate is set in stone because he understands how powerful these beings are crippling his men and delaying his journey home, as he tells of his tale.
